Eva Lakirovich was born in New Haven, Connecticut and began her cello studies at the age of 6 with her mother, Julie Ribchinsky.
Eva maintains an active performance career and has performed in recitals and concerts throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Mexico. She performed a season with the Orchestra Filarmonica de Jalisco. Eva performs regularly with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Eva is presently on the cello faculty of the Vancouver Academy of Music and the VSO School of Music. In the summers, she is a faculty member of the Vancouver Island Music Academy. Eva has also been on the faculty of the Cremona International Music Academy.
Eva holds an undergraduate degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she also received full Suzuki teacher certification through all levels, and a Masterβs degree in music from Carnegie Mellon University. Her principal teachers have included Anne Martindale Williams, Richard Weiss, Kangho Lee, and Katie Schlaikjer.
Eva is looking forward to performing the Brahms Double Concerto as a soloist next season with the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, alongside her husband violinist David Lakirovich in June, 2025.
She plays on a modern cello made in 2016 by Benjamin Wilke.
